For the first time since detachment of founder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) with Pakistan chapter, supporters of MQM-London chanted slogans against the Pakistan body until a meeting that was convened was cancelled. A meeting to organise workers of MQM-Pakistan was under way in Korangi area when supporters of party's founder chanted slogans in his favour denouncing the Pakistan chapter led by Dr Farooq Sattar, Khawaja Izharul Hassan and others.
Representatives of MQM-Pakistan who were present in the meeting attempted to control the situation by cutting the power supply but it did not work. Finally, the gathering was postponed until later as it turned out to be a failure owing to the MQM-London supporters. MQM's founder was detached with the party in August following a speech that was termed provocative and inciting against the country. Dr Sattar led the bloc and was joined by the Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly. However, supporters of MQM-London came forth later on and remain adamant that MQM-Pakistan holds no ground in Sindh as leaders have been earning votes over founder's name.
