FAISALABAD: Skilled manpower is imperative to support existing value added textile sector for growth and to earn foreign exchange, besides creating maximum job opportunities for the unemployed youth.
An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between knitwear industry and Punjab Vocational Training Council with the courtesy of GIZ, said sources.
Kashif Zia Senior Vice Chairman (SVC) Pakistan Hosiery manufacturers Association (PHMA) North Zone, while addressing the ceremony, said that survival of textile industry was directly linked to innovation and gradual value addition in the entire chain of textile.
Muhammad Ilyas Principal Punjab Vocational Training Council said skilled newly trained workers were being absorbed in these industries.
The meeting was also attended by Hammad Hussain, Sulman Butt of GIZ, Asif Iqbal of Cosy international and Muhammad Ayub in addition to other members of PHMA.
