The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has urged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to announce an incentive package for the industry and decrease the electricity and gas tariffs for giving a boost to the exports. PIAF Chairman Irfan Iqbal Sheikh while speaking to the traders and industrialists at a meeting on Friday said that higher input cost has made their products more expensive.
He stressed the need for uniform rates of energy to provide a level playing field within the country. The Punjab-based manufacturers are unable to compete the manufacturers of other provinces due to higher tariffs while the industry is facing uncertainty due to unequal rates, he added.
