Barrister M. Jamshid Malik for Omni Group of Companies has issued the following press release: "Today, 23rd December 2016, at about 1:00 pm Sindh Rangers raided two offices one located close to Hockey Club Stadium and the other close to Mertopole Hotel, Karachi. "Rangers gathered all the employees in one room and commenced the search operation on their own. Rangers remained in our offices for an hour and half, took along two of our employees Kamran Munir Ansari and Kashif Shah, some files with them. Rangers have also removed and taken with them the DVR System (CCTV Footages) from Hockey Club Stadium Office.
"Soon after this incident Rangers issued a Press Release according to which the raid was conducted in the office located at I.I. Chundrigar Road and Hockey Stadium Road, arrested five persons and recovered certain arms and ammunition. "Omni Group of Industries would like to clarify that the office that was raided by Rangers at I. I Chundrigar Road, does not belong/related to us. Omni Group also wants to clarify that the out of the five persons named in the Press Release of Rangers, only two persons named above belong to us, whereas the rest of the named, ie (i) Rajab Ali Rajpar, (ii) Shahzad Shahid and (iii) Ajmal Khan have no concern with us nor were these persons arrested from our premises.
"Additionally, the arms and ammunition mentioned in the Press Release do not belong to Omni Group nor were these recovered from our offices. "Omni Group of Companies wants to clarify that our companies are not involved in any unlawful activities and are, rather, carrying out its business activities strictly as mandated by and accordance with law.
"We strongly refute each and every allegation mentioned against us in the Press Release of Sindh Rangers. We also appeal to the Government of Sindh to carry out independent and impartial enquiry in respect of today's events, and further appeal to the Courts to provide us the justice and security from undue victimisation."-PR
