"Probably, it was a little dangerous for Zardari to travel to Pakistan before and it seems now that the threat has been averted," said former president General Pervez Musharraf (Retd). In an interview, Musharraf said, "Co-chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari is travelling to Pakistan at the most appropriate time."
Zardari is returning from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan on Friday, ending his self-imposed exile after a year and a half. The entire PPP leadership is expecting a huge crowd of party workers and supporters to welcome Zardari due at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi in the afternoon today.
Referring to his recent interview to a private news channel in which Musharraf claimed that former army Chief General Raheel Sharif (Retd) helped him in leaving Pakistan, Musharraf said, "I never sought help from anyone." Musharraf continued that, "Whatever he said in that interview was just his idea that something along the lines might have happened."
