The Karachi Port handled 87,469 tonnes of cargo comprising 66,656 tonnes of import cargo and 20,813 tonnes of export cargo including 4,643 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 66,656 tonnes comprised of 42,706 tonnes of containerised cargo; 940 tonnes of general cargo; 21,800 tonnes of coal and 1,210 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,813 tonnes comprised of 13,313 tonnes of containerised cargo and 7,500 tonnes of iron powder. As many as 4,643 containers comprising of 3,072 containers import and 1,571 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,020 of 20's and 967 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 59 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 362 of 20's and 128 of 40's loaded containers while 211 of 20's and 371 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There was one ship namely Ever Diamond carrying containers sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were five vessels viz. HS Wagner, Seadream, Shangai Trader, Clio and Inaba carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were four ships namely HS Wagner, Al Mahboobah, Ocean Glory and Inaba carrying containers, chemical, coal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while another ship namely YM Excellence carrying containers is expected to sail on Wednesday. There were four vessels viz. UAFL Zanzibar, Bremen Trader, Bunga Lucerne and Pike carrying containers, chemical and mogas respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while seven vessels viz. UAFL Zanzibar, Bremen Trader, Bunga Lucerne and Danceflora SW carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 136,756 tonnes comprising 123,589 tonnes of import cargo and 13,167 tonnes of export cargo including 4,050 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 123,589 tonnes includes 32,848 tonnes of furnace oil; 19,100 tonnes of palm oil; 7,858 tonnes of chemical and 63,783 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 13,167 tonnes includes 13,167 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,050 containers comprising of 3,359 containers import and 697 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Beijing, MV Bremen Trader and MT Distya Ameya carrying containers, chemical and furnace oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely CV Al Karj carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV MSC Beijing, CV MSC Rita, CV Al Karj, MV Bremen Trader, MV Black Pearl, MT Grand Ace-1 and MT Distya Ameya currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, chemical, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve ships namely CV CMA CGM Uruguay, CV Maersk Denver, MV Han Hui, MV Igic Anka, MV Saadong Hai Yao, MT Liberty-N, MT Nordic Gas, MT Gan Tribute, MT Serenceti, MT Pacific Energy, MT Bunga Alamanda and MT Hong Hai-6 carrying containers, project cargo, chemical, soyabean seeds, LPG, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday.
There were four vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Uruguay, CV Maersk Denver, MV Igic Anka and MT Pacific Energy carrying containers, chemical and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were nine ships namely CV Maersk Denver, CV Uni Florida, CV CMA CGM Maupassant, CV CSAV Toconao, MV Fu Ming, MT Maran Gas Delphi, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Shalamar and MT Ashada carrying containers, coal, LNG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while another ship namely CV Maersk Stockholm carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
