Laiba Ijaz clinched the trophy of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-District Girls Squash League-2017 which concluded here at Jansher Khan Squash Complex. Director Youth Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Aziz Ullah Khan was the chief guest on this occasion. Executive Member KP Squash Association Wazir Zada, former World Champion Qamar Zaman, In-charge PAF Jansher Khan Squash Complex Said Shah, Chief Referee Pakistan Squash Federation Munawaz Zaman, players and large number of spectators were also present.
It was the first victory of Laiba Ijaz in 2017 as she remained unbeaten after playing 16 matches of the League against as many players part of the Girls Squash League-2017. Seeded top, Laiba Ijaz defeated first Hira Aqeel, who is seeded second, after a tough fight by 3-1. The two gave each other a tough time as the match was also witnessed by the chief guest along with other guests present on this occasion.
Hira remained at second after losing just one match to Laiba while Nimra took third position as she lost of Laiba and Hira.
Speaking on this occasion, Aziz Ullah Khan lauded the efforts of the KP Squash Association for organising League matches for the girls. Qamar Zaman on this occasion appreciated female coach Riaz Khan for his hard work.
At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes to the position holders of the Girls Squash League-17.
