Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders while lambasting Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan have claimed that PTI leadership submitted bogus and unauthentic documents in Panamagate case to mislead the Supreme Court. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Minister of State and Chairman Privatisation Commission Muhammad Zubair and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Daniyal Aziz said that attitude of chairman PTI even forced the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to use the words filthy and uncivilised to categorise his language.
They claimed the PML-N had submitted attested and authentic documents with the Supreme Court of Pakistan to provide a clear money trail of all the transactions by the Prime Minister's family. Those transactions had been done for money earned through legitimate businesses abroad, they claimed.
Zubair said it was a record that no politician, except Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in the history of Pakistan had presented himself/herself for scrutiny, adding Prime Minister Sharif was submitting the documents of his three generations covering a period of 40 years.
Zubair said the PTI alleged that Maryam Nawaz was the beneficial owner of flats in London, while the PML-N had documents to prove that those were authentically held by Hussain Nawaz. He claimed that it had been proved in the court that Maryam was not dependent of PM Sharif. He informed that Maryam gave a loan of Rs 2.2 million to her father last year, which was also a proof that she was not a dependent of the Prime Minister.
He lamented that the PTI leaders were not even ready to accept the responsibility of the documents submitted by them in the court of law.
Speaking on the occasion, Aziz alleged that PTI leaders could not hoodwink the people as they had a track record of shady business dealings and transactions.
He alleged that PTI leader Jehangir Tareen gave gifts worth Rs 1.647 billion to his wife and children without any money trail.
Aziz sarcastically said how a politician living in a house measuring 300 kanals of land could talk about the plight of the poor.
He claimed the chairman PTI after observing that all the doubts and ambiguities created by him in connection with the Panamagate case were being rejected in the Supreme Court, was now seeking a way out but the PML-N would not let him run away.
He claimed that Khan had no counter-evidence to produce before the apex court in reply to the documents submitted by the counsels for Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.
Aziz added that Maryam was an independent lady as she had submitted her income and wealth tax statements with the court.
