National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China to ensure co-operation and oversee transparency in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Pakistan. This was stated by Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhary while chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday. He said corruption was a poison which not only caused delays in the early completion of development projects but also inflicted huge losses to national exchequer.
He said it also increases inflation in the country decreasing the buying power of common man. He said that NAB has implemented Internal Accountability Mechanism (IAM) within NAB with a view to weed out such elements that for reasons of inefficiency, misconduct, malpractice and violation of laid down Rules and bring a bad name to the organisation.
