The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) provisionally collected Rs 1,688 billion during July-January (2016-17) against target of Rs 1,823 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs 135 billion. Sources toldBusiness Recorder here on Tuesday that the revenue shortfall would be reduced on compilation of final figures in coming days. According to sources, tax machinery has provisionally collected Rs 225 billion in January 2017 against monthly target of Rs 233 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs 8 billion.
The FBR has collected around Rs 1688 billion during July-January (2016-17) against Rs 1,581 billion in same period last fiscal, reflecting a growth of 7 percent. The Board has provisionally collected Rs 225 billion in January 2017 against Rs 208 billion in the corresponding period of 2016.
