Professor Dr Iqrar A Khan, Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture Faisalabad while addressing the students of Faculty of Agriculture at Iqbal Auditorium has said that trained manpower is necessary for bright future. Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Muhammad Amjad, Director Students Affair Shahbaz Talib Sahi, Dr Fawad Ahmad, Senior Tutor Dr Athar Javed and other notables also attended.
He was of the view that ever-growing population, diminishing resources, climate changes, low per acre production and lack of awareness about latest tools are aggravating the problems of agriculture sector. He said as many as 50 percent of the enrolment consist of women and the university was actively working on gender mainstreaming. He said that university was making all-out efforts for addressing the issues of the farming community, stakeholders, civil society and the campus community.
He said that the university had introduced 48 new degree programmers keeping in view the need of the modern era. He said that there is need to go to extra miles than the knowledge in books. Dr Muhammad Amjad said that the country was blessed with the tremendous talents. There is a need to tap the potential. He urged the youth to remain focus on education and the skills development activities to produce good results.
