Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday alleged that Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has failed to produce counter-evidence with regard to Panama Papers case in the Supreme Court. Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb refuted the chairman PTI's claims against the PML-N, saying the latter has produced all the relevant documents in the court, but the PTI has failed in producing any counter-evidence in the court.
She said that documents relating to the properties of Prime Minister's sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussein Nawaz will soon be presented before the Supreme Court. She said the Prime Minister is taking steps to improve the security situation as well as taking the country forward on economic front, adding Khan should return to positive politics and contribute to the development of the country. Marriyum Aurangzeb also asked the chairman PTI to shun negative politics and play a role of oversight in the Parliament.
Referring to Lahore terrorist attack, the state minister advised the opposition parties not to indulge in political point-scoring on the security matters. MNA Talal Chaudhry accused the chairman PTI of trying to win Panama Leaks case through "tampering". He claimed that the PTI has no concrete evidence but the party is levelling only "baseless" allegations.
Criticising PTI leadership, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali claimed that the PML-N will win the political and legal battle while the PTI would continue to face criticism from the masses. Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry expressed his confidence that the Supreme Court's verdict in Panama Papers case will be based on justice, adding that his party has full confidence in the apex court. He said the PML-N will accept the court verdict in letter and spirit, adding the court's decision will have far-reaching results. He regretted that the PTI leadership is targeting the PML-N leadership through "baseless" allegations.
