The 4th Women Trade Fair will begin from March 14 in local hotel in Peshawar, aiming at showcasing the women handicraft and market in befitting manner. According to an official communiqué, the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) in joint collaboration with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Peshawar will hold a two-day trade fair.
The trade expo will formally be inaugurated by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak. The women and families are invited to participate in the two-day women handicraft exhibition.
The organizers said that traditional stalls, including kids zone, fashion show, food kioks, musical show would be set up in the trade show, while eminent folk musicians will also perform on the occasion. The trade fair will remain open from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm for families, the organizers said. They said the trade fair aims to promote the handmade of stuffs of women entrepreneurs and develop linkages between market and their products in befitting manner.
The TCKP officials said that the development of soft-image of this region was another major objective of the event. They further said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa women have much potential to compete at every level, but they should have proper support and opportunities to express their talent and skills in the befitting manner.
The officials further said that the provincial government was taking all possible measure to women economic empowerment and provision of opportunities for them, especially skilled women to have financial sound and sustain at every level. They said the event would help to promote women entrepreneurs' handmade products.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan is holding series of trade exhibitions and three women trade fairs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have already been organised so far. This would be fourth edition, which is going to be held in the province.
