Elon Musk now building high-speed electric trains in Chicago
The Verge explained, the two-mile high-speed test tunnel is located underneath Musk’s SpaceX’s headquarters in California and is a proof of concept for an underground public transportation system, aiming to transport passengers and vehicles under the congested roads, on autonomously driven electric platforms dubbed as ‘skates’. The skates are supposed to transport eight to 16 passengers, or one passenger vehicle, along with magnetic rails at speeds of up to 155mph.
Pretty close, actually

Moreover, due to Musk’s efforts in underground transport systems, the Boring Company was selected to build a rapid transit link between downtown Chicago to O’Hare International Airport. The tech entrepreneur also previously announced his plans to build a second tunnel in LA. Also, Musk has also talked about plans to make an underground hyperloop system.
