Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has termed the Peshawar Rapid Bus Transit (PRBT) Project as first-ever golden-standard third generation project of the entire subcontinent that would give efficient commuting services to the entire Peshawar valley.
He expressed these views talking to a representative delegation of the traders of Peshawar City and Cantonment at the Chief Minister Secretariat, here on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Transport Shah Muhammad Khan Wazir and MPA Mehmood Jan were also present.
Khattak told the traders that PRBT was a unique project in the sense that it was to give one solution to all the traffic hazards in Peshawar city and would integrate eight feeding routes commuting 480,000 commuters. He said the feasibility of the project had completed and the second package would lead through the Sunheri Masjid road. "Peshawar Rapid Bus Transit Project was planned keeping in view the emerging future requirements of Peshawar in the backdrop of CPEC," he said.
KP chief minister assured that all his efforts would lead to benefit the people. He said that benefiting the investors for the rapid industrialization was in the interest of the province. He said the growth of the province would lead to generate economic activities, bring prosperity and development and would open up the whole region to the domestic and international investors that would create job opportunities. However, he stressed that the region needed a cohesive planning including a comprehensive plan for vehicular traffic and PRBT would give one solution to all traffic congestion. He said that the project was entering into its implementation phase.
