Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore Professor Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid on Tuesday called for strengthening the linkages between the industry and the academia for the progress and prosperity of the country with visionary approach. He was talking to business community, students and faculty on inaugural ceremony of 3rd Industrial Open House and Career Fair 2017 (IOH&CF'17) held at University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.
"In this regard, long term and outcome based relations between both sectors must be established properly," he said. He also said to meet the needs of local and international markets education sector can produce quality workforce after the adaptation of upgraded curricula and training facilities for students. In this context, UET is following this paradigm properly.
He urged the youth to seek the latest trends and technology from developed nations to build strong economy. He asked the industry to create job opportunities in order to engage skilled youth in the development of country. The stalls related to Manufacturing Industry, Services Industry, Computers and Electronics, Construction, Oil Gas and Natural Resources, Chemical, Process Industry, Energy and Environment were established in the fair. More than 75 companies attended the fair and conducted interviews of students of final year who displayed their projects.
