The leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, Dr Asim Hussain, has lodged a report in which he apprised the police of threat to his lift by unidentified persons and demanded beefed security measures to guard him. Dr Asim informed the police that he was boarding his vehicle near Boat Basin Chowrangi Clifton in Karachi on April 20 when a white car with tinted glasses approached towards his vehicle. According to him, that white vehicle was followed by a black car in which four armed persons were sitting. Smelling a rat, he told his driver to move forward, speedily.
Asim further stated that a person in the vehicle pointed his pistol towards him, but since his vehicle was escorted, the suspicious cars moved towards Punjab Chowrangi. The PPP leader said that when he was detained at the Gulberg police station, he had seen the same person there. He feared he could be kidnapped, hence he demanded security measures for him be increased.
