Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always stood by each other in testing times and the people of Pakistan have deep emotional attachment with the Kingdom being the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He was talking to Pakistan's Ambassador-designate to Saudi Arabia Khan Hasham in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said the two countries have maintained cordial and brotherly relations marked by commonalities on all issues of mutual interest at regional and international level. He said that the two Muslim states have always stood by each other in testing times and the people of Pakistan have deep emotional attachment with Saudi Arabia being the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
The Prime Minister directed the Ambassador to personally supervise arrangements for the forthcoming Hajj and to provide maximum facilities to Hajj pilgrims. He further stated that special attention be given to Pakistani community residing in Saudi Arabia with particular focus on ease of access of the community to consular services. Ambassador should regularly interact with the Pakistani community and promptly resolve their problems, added the PM.
The Prime Minister further said that a significant number of Pakistani workers are earning their livelihood in Saudi Arabia and they should be facilitated in every respect. He also advised the Ambassador to work with utmost dedication for the welfare of Pakistani Diaspora with particular attention to education of their children.
