Hot weather forecast for Punjab

The meteorological department has forecast hot weather ahead, saying that there is no further chance of rain. It may be noted that the weather had taken a pleasant twist last week when clouds kept control of skies leading to spells of rains throughout Punjab. Mercury also dropped so and citizens took a relief.
It also provided comfort to the Ministry of Water and Power, as there was a significant drop in generation due to short supply of water in dams and periodic maintenance of some thermal units. According to the Met office, temperature took a rise of 36 degree centigrade and a drop of 22 degree centigrade during the last 24 hours.
