KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that Pakistan is committed to the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, according to the media.
He said this during his meeting with Iranian Vice President Ali Saeedlou, who called on the President at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
President Zardari said trade between Pakistan and Iran could be boosted to $5 billion.
The President said, "Pakistan wants to expand preferential trade with Iran," and added, "We want progress on Preferential Trade Agreement."
"Cooperation in energy, security and communication to be enhanced," said President Zardari.
President Zardari said, "Elimination of tarrif, non-tarrif barriers can boost trade between the two countries."
