PUC Sufi Convention: speakers ask Iranian leadership to avoid threatening remarks
Speakers at a convention while condemning the statement of Iranian defence minister have asked Iranian leadership to avoid making such speeches threatening Pak-Iran relations. The religious scholars speaking at the Sufi Convention organised by Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) here on Wednesday said that Pak-Iran situation is very serious for the world. They said that Iran has always opined against the cause of Islamic World.
They said that Iran should consider why it is isolated from the Islamic Military Alliance made against the elimination of terrorism. They added that the menace of terrorism is not only the problem of Pakistan but also of the whole world.
Central Chairman PUC Maulana Zahid Mahmood Qasmi said that current behaviour of Iran will weaken relationship of the both countries. He said that Pakistan is willing for a lasting peace in Afghanistan and Afghan government should also consider that better relations are in the best interests of both countries.
Qasmi while condemning the statements of the Iranian Army Chief General Hussain Bari regarding attacks in Pakistan said that Iran should keep in mind that Pakistan Army has full capacity to defend the dear homeland and the Pakistani nation would fight shoulder to shoulder with Army against any step against the security and defense of the country. Any aggressive step from Iran, Afghanistan and India would amount to destruction of regional peace.
Vice-Chairman PUC Maulana Yaar Muhammad Abid said that Muslims are being massacred in Syria, Iraq, Palestine and other countries. He said that the only solution to this problem is the mutual union of the Islamic World. The young scholars and students should have made themselves ready to cope with the civil strife (fitnah) arising out in the name of Islam and the leading Islamic scholars should play their role to stop terrorism and extremism.
Peer Gee Khalid Mahmood Qasmi said that the threats of attacks on Saudi Arabia on behalf of Iran are condemnable. Central Secretary General Maulana Shah Nawaz Farooqi said that Muslim Ummah will not allow anybody to play with the solidarity and stability of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
