WhatsApp’s latest feature lets users reply privately in group chats
Popular messaging app WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that will enable users to send a private reply in group chats.
Rumor has it that the social media app is introducing ‘Reply Privately’, a new feature that allows users to send a private message with the help of group message, as spotted by popular tipster WABetaInfo.
As explained by Phone World, the feature works in group chats. The feature comes in handy when a user is in a group chat with someone and wishes to reply to one particular member that no one else can see. However, this message will be sent in a separate chat box.
WhatsApp might launch new Silent, Vacation Mode features
The feature is for now in beta version of its Android app. In order to access the feature, the user would have to select the message they want to reply to. User would then have to tap the three dots appearing on the top of the chat. From then the user would have to choose ‘Reply Privately’. WhatsApp will then automatically open a private chat window with that contact.
According to First Post, this feature will save time since the user would not have to get out of the group, search for the concerned person’s name and then reply to the message.
Moreover, recently WhatsApp’s mobile messaging Vice President Chris Daniels has confirmed that app will soon be home to ads through its Status feature.
