Export premiums for soyabeans shipped from the US Gulf Coast eased on Thursday, as Brazilian farmers ramped up sales to supply the global market, traders said. Increased farmer sales of soyabeans in Brazil due to a plunge in the currency weakened prices for export shipments from Brazil and made US shipments less competitive on the world market, a trader said.
Corn export premiums were mostly steady. Soyabean shipments loaded in late June and July were offered around 43 cents a bushel over Chicago Board of Trade July futures, down 2 cents from Wednesday. FOB corn basis offers for June shipments were about 38 cents a bushel above CBOT July futures, unchanged from Wednesday.
