The Karachi Port handled 356,375 tonnes of cargo comprising 319,516 tonnes of import cargo and 36,859 tonnes of export cargo including 9,031 loaded and empty containers during the last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 319,516 tonnes comprised of 116,078 tonnes of containerised cargo; 133 tonnes of general cargo; 75,868 tonnes of bulk cargo: 61,381 tonnes of coal; 5,710 tonnes of palm kernel expeller; 8,777 tonnes of fertilizer and 127,437 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 36,859 tonnes comprised of 29,649 tonnes of containerised cargo; 347 tonnes of general cargo; 2,563 tonnes of talcum powder and 4,300 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 9,031 containers comprising of 5,003 containers import and 4,028 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,314 of 20's and 1,807 of 40's loaded while 01 of 20's and 37 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 356 of 20's and 340 of 40's loaded containers while 910 of 20's and 1,041 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were nine ships namely Sima Genesis, Al Farahidi, MSC Imma, Mongoose Hunter, Oriental Jasmine, Mari Ugland, DL Violet, SC Qingdao and Global Phoenix carrying containers, oil tankers, chemical and coal respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There was eight vessel viz. MSC Imma, Hyundai Force, Bodo Schulte, Cosco Durban, New Ark, Oriental Jasmine, BW Amazon and MT Shalamar carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely Hyundai Force, New Ark and Lady Amna carrying containers and meal respectively sailed out to sea on Monday.
There were five vessels APL Japan, MT Lahore, Glovis Pacific, Ocean Destiny and Beagle-II carrying containers, oil tanker, vehicle, coal and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Monday while five vessels viz. Prosper, Northern Dependant, Vania, Calix and YU Bright carrying containers, S B meal and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 113,650 tonnes comprising 59,651 tonnes of import cargo and 53,999 tonnes of export cargo including 2,224 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 59,651 tonnes includes 20,000 tonnes of LNG; 11,900 tonnes of palm oil; 3,500 tonnes of chemical; 8,994 tonnes of coal and 15,257 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 53,999 tonnes includes 26,999 tonnes of containerised cargo; 27,000 tonnes of condensate oil. As many as 2,224 containers comprising of 803 containers import and 1,421 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There were three ships namely CV APL Japan, CV Safmarine Nyassa and MV Gas Chem Antarctic carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship namely MT Wawasan Jade carrying palm oil is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV APL Japan, CV Safmarine Nyassa, MV African Falcon, MV MR Arcturus, MV Rui Ning-2, MV Doric Victory, MV Good Hope Max, MV Gas Chem Antarctic, MT Maran Gas Asclepius and MT Wawasan Jade currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, coal, soyabean, chemical, LNG and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV MSC Rita, MV Nord Destroy, MV Frontier Leader, MV Lincolin Park, MV Santa Virginia, MV New Era, MV Global Phoenix, MT Kahyas, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Spruce-2, MT Quetta, MT Harminy-1, MT Impros and MT Silver Manoora carrying containers, soyabean, canola seeds, chemical, coal, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV MSC Rita, CV MSC Mykonos, CV Jazan, MV Lincolin Park and MT Silver Manoora carrying containers, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There were six ships namely CV Jazan, CV MSC Mykonos, MV Malne Ehime, MT Maria-III, MT Lion-M and MT Brizo carrying containers, steel coil, LPG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Monday. There are three ships namely CV Maersk Columbus, CV New Ark and CV MSC Albany carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
