Benedict Cumberbatch hints at Doctor Strange’s fate in ‘Avengers 4’
At the end of Marvel’s ‘Avengers Infinity War’, Doctor Strange turned to dust in Thanos’ snap. Actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who is actually playing the character, has revealed the potential return of Doctor Strange in Avengers 4.
When asked if his character would return for the next film, he said in ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, “I'm dust, baby. I'm just out there. I'm in the ether. I'm probably part of your food chain. I'm in your stomach somewhere”.
However, he also hinted about his potential return. “Well, who knows?,” he said. His answer has made many of his fans optimistic. While he’s not able to chat much about any potential role in the next flick just yet, he was more than happy to chat about his role in Infinity War.
“It’s amazing, It’s ludicrous. It just gets sort of giddy and unreal, to be honest I mean, just being part of that franchise is a kick, let alone the people I got to have screen time with and the story that I was sort of part of. I mean, it was really extraordinary to do and even more weird and wonderful to see it roll out and get that kind of reception,” he told Fallon.
Meanwhile, the past couple of months have seen a lot of information about ‘Avengers 4’ being leaked. As per one of the theories that have been swinging, suggesting Doctor Strange will be behind the reversal of the Thanos snap or at least saving half the population who were wiped out by it.
The character is also expected to return for a sequel to his 2016 solo film.
