The Karachi Port handled 133,447 tonnes of cargo comprising 104,572 tonnes of import cargo and 28,875 tonnes of export cargo including 7,266 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 104,572 tonnes comprised of 45,959 tonnes of containerised cargo; 7,374 tonnes of general cargo; 33,839 tonnes of bulk cargo: 25,702 tonnes of coal; 5,293 tonnes of fertilizer; 2,844 tonnes of soyabean meal and 17,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,875 tonnes comprised of 28,875 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 7,266 containers comprising of 3,529 containers import and 3,737 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,382 of 20's and 874 of 40's loaded while 165 of 20's and 117 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 978 of 20's and 156 of 40's loaded containers while 871 of 20's and 788 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were three ships namely Sima Genesis, Mid Falcon and Nautical Marie carrying containers, oil tanker and DAP respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Kota Kasturi, Kota Layar, UAFL Zanzibar, BW Seine, IVS Crimson Creek and Viking Coral carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and vehicle respectively currently at the berths. There were two six ships namely Kota Layar, Clemens Schulte, Petrolimex-16, STI Brooklyn, IVS Gleneagles and Trans Autumn carrying containers, oil tankers, DAP and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday, while two ships namely YM Cypress and Viking Coral carrying containers and vehicle respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
There were four vessels viz. Vania, Bellavia, Star Jiang and Daiwan Fortune carrying containers, coal and steel respectively due to arrive on Thursday while seven vessels viz. MSC Federica, Al-Abdali, MT Lahore, High Fidelity, NCC Najem, Dream Beauty and Le He carrying containers, oil tankers, mogas, vehicle and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 173,498 tonnes comprising 125,500 tonnes of import cargo and 47,998 tonnes of export cargo including 3,382 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 125,500 tonnes includes 13,500 tonnes of LNG; 64,500 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,550 tonnes of palm oil; 3,572 tonnes of soyabean; 7,760 tonnes of coal; 6,765 tonnes of chemical and 16,853 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 47,998 tonnes includes 47,405 tonnes of containerised cargo; 593 tonnes of project cargo. As many as 3,382 containers comprising of 887 containers import and 2,495 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There were six ships namely CV MSC Algeciras, CV Northern Monnument, MV Calipso, MV Sea Ambition, MT Maran Gas Ascleplus and MT Cerulean carrying containers, soyabean, chemical, LNG and palm oil sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships namely CV MSC Sao Paulo, MT Pacific Panama and MT Argent Daisy carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels viz. CV MSC Sao Paulo, CV MSC Algeciras, CV Northern Monnument, MV Bao An Ling, MV Nord Leader, MV Calipso, MV Sea Ambition, MT Maran Gas Ascleplus, MT Pacific Panama, MT Argent Daisy and MT Cerulean currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean seeds, chemical, general cargo, LNG, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as twenty-two ships namely CV CMA CGM Indus, CV MSC Messina, MV Sea Con-6, MV Star Trader, MV Safizaya Diaono, MV Fidias, MV Yang Ze LO, MV Golden Cat Harine, MV Friendly Seas, MV Nautical Alice, MV Sea Delta, MV YM Miranda, MV Eternal Trump, MT White Pearl, MT Maga Rita, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Bahra, MT Bneider, MT Jag Lavanya, MT Pavino Spirit, MT Banga Angelica and MT Rainbow Island carrying containers, steel coil, chemical, soyabean, canola seeds, coal, cement, LPG, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were nine vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Indus, CV MSC Messina, MV Sea Con-6, MV Safizaya Diaono, MV Fidias,, MV Neutrino, MV YM Miranda, MT Tomson Gas and MT Bneider carrying containers, steel coil, soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were nine ships namely CV CMA CGM Indus, CV MSC Messina, MV Bow Sagami, MV Da Pe, MV BBC Ursa, MV Southern Ibis, MV Neutrno, MV Asali and MT Tomson Gas carrying containers, soyabean, project cargo, general cargo, coal and LPG respectively due to arrive on Thursday. There are two ships namely CV Tempanos and CV Uni Florida carrying containers due to arrive on Friday, while two ships namely CV CMA CGM Vergina and CV Safmarine Nyassa carrying containers are due to arrive on Saturday.
