The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Saturday issued office order of a four-member inquiry team regarding probe against two officials of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) who have allegedly tampered the record of Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
The six-member joint investigation team interrogating Panama Papers case in pursuance of the apex court's directives alleged that SECP Chairman Muhammad Zafarul Haq Hijazi and Executive Director Ali Azeem Ikram have provided tampered record of Chaudhry Sugar Mills to the team.
Taking notice of the complaint of the JIT, a three-member special bench led by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan which is overseeing the Panama Papers verdict in the matter had issued directives to the FIA to probe allegations.
After approval of the names form the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant Shuja Naveed (Retd) (PN) who is currently working as additional director establishment issued an office order in the matter.
According to the office order, Director Anti-Corruption Wing FIA Maqsood Al-Hassan will supervise the inquiry team whereas Deputy Director Ayaz Mehmood, Assistant Director Tahir Tanvir and Inspector Farooq Latif are attached with the inquiry team to probe into the matter.
