The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a case against chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan till July 10.
A four-member bench of Election Commission of Pakistan, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan heard the contempt case against the chairman PTI. The chief election commissioner expressed his annoyance over non-submission of PTI's reply and said that the decision will be announced on the next hearing on 10th of this month. He said the reply is no more required, adding he would announce the decision on next hearing on July 10.
The chairman PTI failed to submit his reply repeatedly in the case and his counsel has sought more time from the ECP for this purpose. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Daniyal Aziz said that the chairman PTI would have to submit his reply in the case. While, petitioner Akbar S Babar said that Khan is running away from accountability but cases before the Supreme Court and the ECP would expose him fully. He said that there is no difference in tax evasion and misuse of public donations.
