VC-SU Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, following up on his prior announcement during a 'Sughar Conference' gave away cash prize of Rs 10000 each to the team of brother and sister namely Rahat and Intekhab Burdi upon rendering remarkable verse of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in recitation form during the Sughar Conference. Whereas, he conferred a special prize of another 10000 rupees on Kaneez Fatima who had presented the best article on Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai during the same event. Those prizes were distributed among the recipients in the presence of their respective parents. The other important personae who were also present on the occasion included president SUTA Dr Azhar Ali Shah, SUOA president and general secretary Ghulam Nabi Kaka and engineer Sajjad Hussain Shah.
On the other hand, VC-SU Dr Burfat handed out appreciation certificates for winning National Research Excellence (NRE) Awards with the nomenclature "The Best Research Productivity Award 2016" to 7 eminent research scholars of Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh that they had won from Pakistan Council of Science and Technology, Islamabad, a subsidiary of Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan. The recipients of those tokens of excellence and the categories of each award were under a head: Dr Tasneem Gul Qazi and Dr Saima Naz category 'A', Dr Hassan Afreedi, Dr Tufail Hussain Sherazi and Dr Sirajuddin category 'B' and Dr Farah Talpur and the Director NCEAC Dr Shahabuddin Memon category 'C'.
