Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Saturday said that Panama case was being used as a political weapon. Talking to media here, Fazl said that the JUI-F stood by the country, the nation and the constitution. He added that Panama case had nothing to do with corruption. He added that the country institutions should be allowed to be impartial.
The JUI-F chief added that they had also reservations on National Accountability Bureau (NAB). He added that he had called for disbanding NAB created by General Musharraf. The religio-politcal leader said that Panama was being used for creating instability rather eliminating corruption. To a question, the JUI-F chief said that he was not saving the government rather the country.
He maintained that establishment was a national institution and it had a role. He added that he was not considering establishment a party at any cost in the current situation. Regarding restoration of the religious parties' alliance MMA, Fazl said that a committee had been constituted headed by Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Ghafoor Haideri over the issue.
He added that they had good relations with the component parties of the MMA. "We have cordial relations even with Jamaat-e-Islami despite it being the partner of a party like PTI in KP government," he added.
