A series of basic first aid trainings for the local communities of Ambar and Pandiali tehsils organized in collaboration with PRC/HUJR and World Food Programme concluded at Pakistan Red Crescent Mohmand Agency Office at Ekkaghund on Tuesday. A total numbers of 60 participants from Pandaili and Ambar tehsils received the basic training. On the occasion representative of Directorate Of Project Fata Secretariat Peshawar Sajjad Khan, HUJRA Deputy Project Manager Ismail Khan and Agency Coordinator HUJRA Sajid Ali Khan were also present.
The course was conducted by First Aid trainer Muhammad Tariq of the Pakistan Red Crescent Mohmand Agency, who also introduced PRC, the subject of first-aid, treating wounds and bleeding, dealing with burns and respiratory emergencies. "The aim of the training was to enhance the knowledge, practice and techniques of first aid amongst the participants for helping them to respond efficiently in any kind of conflict and/or emergency," said Tariq.
On the occasion he advised the local's tribesmen to adopt basic first-aid methods prescribed by the Pakistan Red Crescent while treating emergency cases. Muhammad Tariq said that the efforts of the Red Crescent to train target groups of youth/girls for voluntary work so that the Pakistan Red Crescent was able to attain their objective of providing "one first-aider in every home". Agency Coordinator HUJRA Organization Sajid Ali Khan on the occasion said that PRC is national society and played a vital role in any disaster occurs in the area. He said that they have signed an MoU with PRC FATA which will train all their Village Disaster Management Committees members in the area.
