Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of Provincial Cabinet Committee on Law and Order here on Tuesday in which preliminary report regarding suicide attack at Kot Lakhpat Vegetable Market was presented. The meeting reviewed overall law and order situation in the province.
Addressing the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that a tragic incident of terrorism occurred in Lahore in which brutal beasts targeted police officials and innocent citizens. He said this terrible incident grieved the whole country. He said martyr police officials and citizens are heroes of the nation and their sacrifices would not go waste. He said, the entire nation salutes those sacrificing their lives for peace of the country.
Shahbaz Sharif said that families of martyrs and their children would be fully looked after. He said effective steps have to be taken to curb menace of terrorism. The Chief Minister said that entry and exit points of the province and cities should be strictly monitored and added that action be taken against terrorists and their facilitators in an effective manner. Injured police officials and the citizens should be fully cared, he said. Dua was offered for the departed souls of the martyrs of the blast as well as early recovery of the injured during the meeting. Provincial Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Lt-Co Ayyub Gadhi (retd), Kh Salman Rafiq, Kh Imran Nazir, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary Home, Inspector General Police, senior officials and concerned officers of civil law enforcement agencies were present on the occasion.
