Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Yaseen Khan Khalil has categorically denied the corruption allegations leveled against him by erstwhile provincial minister for mineral development and the PTI's disgruntled MPA, Ziaullah Afridi. Khalil asked the anti-corruption institutions to conduct an impartial inquiry about his assets, if they were proved any corruption against him, he will resign as member of the provincial assembly, he said.
He was speaking a news conference at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Thursday. Accompanied by a large number of the party activists, and workers from his constituency PK-5, PTI MPA said that an adjournment motion in the provincial assembly was submitted by dissident PTI's MPA, Ziaulllah Afridi in which he alleged him for selling jobs in the government departments. The adjournment motion demanded the debate over corruption in the provincial government, in which including Ziaullah Afridi also alleged the provincial minister for sports Mehmood Khan has deposited the government funds in his personal account.
Khalil has rejected the allegations and termed it's as untrue and totally baseless. He said that when he was served as advisor to chief minister on RRS and Transport, a driver Hussain Qadir in Rescue 1122 had suspended over the taking bribe on provision of jobs. But, he said Ziaullah Afridi had mentioned in his adjournment motion that he was also nominated in FIR lodged against Hussain Qadir, which is totally wrong as he had ordered to register case against him.
Furthermore, he said the anti-corruption establishment department had also initiated inquiry against Hussain Qadir over allegations of corruption on him. He clarified that the case was not pertinent to him, despite the fact that Ziaullah Afridi attached him. Khalil said the party had expelled MPA Ziaullah Afridi over corruption charges and accumulation of illegal billions of rupees wealth and properties in Peshawar and Islamabad. He demanded of the provincial Anti-corruption department, NAB, FIA, and KP Ehtesaab Commission to conduct an impartial probe into his assets. He said if he was proved guilty, he would resign as member provincial assembly as well as quit the party membership.
