Igor Kolesov, Head of Business Club, Organizational Department, Moscow, and Guard Agricultural Research & Services have agreed to push rice trade between the two countries on mega level in future. He also announced that Russian inspectors will soon visit Pakistan for the inspection of abattoirs to give final nod for starting import of meat from Pakistan. Igor Kolesov was heading a two-member delegation of the Russian Federation. He held meetings with meat exporters, rice exporters, cheese exporters and other stakeholders of food sector in Lahore.
The delegation was invited by the Punjab Halal Development Agency (PHDA), said a spokesman of the Agency here on Thursday. Igor Kolesov said the Russian Federation needs Halal meat and Pakistan could meet its requirement. "Soon the inspector of our country will visit Pakistan for the inspection of abattoirs and approval to start meat import from Pakistan." The PHDA also arranged meeting of the Russian Federation delegation with the representatives of the State Bank of Pakistan, National Bank of Pakistan and Meezan Bank to explore the joint venture opportunities.
After deliberations with banks, the delegation agreed for the banking operations for the traders of Moscow for smooth running of export business between two the countries. Elena M Kholod, Senior Vice President, Tembr Bank, Moscow, said that opening of Pakistani bank branch in Moscow, as previously opened in Kazakhstan, will make sure the possibilities to enhance the trade between the two countries. Chairman PHDA, former Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman said that Halal Agency is trying to give maximum support to local export industry to boost up their business, which eventually will benefit the national economy.
