Business Community of Faisalabad is fully aware of its religious as well as national obligations while donating Zakat and skins of sacrificial animals and it is in this context that Faisalabad is comparatively save from the clutches of terrorists, said Muhammad Saeed Sheikh President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI).
He was addressing an awareness session organized by Initiative for Peace and Development (IPAD) on its project "Safe giving and Safe living." President FCCI mentioned that the business community of Faisalabad believes in peace. The local philanthropists have always contributed generously for the help and rehabilitation of their affected brothers during earth quacks, floods other natural calamities. Many of them are also running hospitals, free dispensaries, orphanages and educational institutions as their Social Corporate Responsibilities.
He said that Faisalabad's business community also funding religious seminaries who are offering religious as well as traditional education to their students. He expressed satisfaction that they fully understand the implications of the misuse of their charity and hence, they discharge their obligations with full responsibility so that it could be utilized only for the welfare of poor and deserving destitute.
Earlier, Mishal Tahir Executive Director IPAD introduced her organization while Miss Fatima presented a documentary on the subject of "Safe giving and Safe Living." She told that being Muslim we are bound to pay zakat as its ultimate objective is to root out poverty. "We expect that the business community, in most cases pay maximum Zakat in addition to helping out the poor and needy segments of the society", she said and added that despite of their sincere contributions 55 million people in Pakistan are living below poverty line and it is a matter of concern for all of us.
She told IPAD has launched a three project of "Safe giving and Safe living" in collaboration with FCCI. Under this project various awareness and orientation sessions would be arranged while IT and other Publicity material will be provided by the IPAD.
