Deputy Foreign Minister of China Dr Baige Zhao said on Friday that change of government in Pakistan will not affect the project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which was aimed at uniting people of both the countries being the real stakeholders.
She was replying to a query during a briefing given to a high-level diplomatic mission from Peoples Republic of China headed by her and Wang Weiguang, President Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, on CPEC Business Research Center established by University of Management and Technology (UMT).
Dr Baige said the CPEC is a huge project that would change the fate of both the nations. She said people of China and Pakistan would get benefits from the project, especially young entrepreneurs and engineers studying at universities would have ample opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills for CPEC.
Speaking on the occasion, Weiguang said they were visiting Pakistani universities as per instructions of the central government that wanted them to engage in talks with university officials to do research on CPEC and build public opinion.
The delegation assured that the Chinese government would collaborate with UMT regarding joint research on CPEC and how job and business opportunities could be created for students. They also discussed various ways of engaging business community of both the countries to create synergies regarding CPEC operations. Later, the delegation exchanged information regarding various aspects of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its futuristic scope in the region. Rector UMT Dr Muhammad Aslam and Director CPEC Center Dr Haroon Rasheed greeted the delegation.
