Bargad, in collaboration with the Youth Affairs Department, Government of the Punjab, Chief Minister's Special monitoring Unit (SMU) and Walled City Authority (WCA) Lahore organised the "Arz-e-Pakistan March" as part of a campaign entitled "Ten Days for Pakistan" to commemorate this year's Independence Day celebrations. This campaign is being executed in the month of August. The march included a 500-meter-long walk, starting from Delhi Gate and ending at Wazir Khan Chowk, where participants were energised by the musical performances.
Director General Lahore WCA Kamran Lashari stated, "The Lahore walled city premises is the perfect venue for this glorious march as Lahore is the heart of Pakistan and gestures of such love for your country fit right in." Adding to this, Head of Media Department Lahore WCA Tania Qureshi added, "Today we have celebrated Pakistan's rich heritage, history and embodied one of its founding principles; unity".
Deputy Secretary Youth Affairs, Sports, Archaeology & Tourism Tehmina Habib remarked, "Through this march, we hope to achieve two results, first to showcase the diversity within Pakistan, and second, to showcase that diversity only makes us stronger." Executive Director Bargad Sabiha Shaheen said, "Today we should take pride in our accomplishment. We had gathered here as individuals but we have marched as one."
200 participants including 100 females displayed jubilance and were heard chanting patriotic songs throughout the march. Ahsan, a participant, excitedly exclaimed, "A feeling of togetherness runs throughout the march, today I have witnessed a display of patriotism I had not seen before." The march was part of the activities Bargad carrying out in Punjab. Last day in PILAC there was a huge gathering of five hundred people and renowned scholars of the country to discuss freedom, co-existence and equal citizenship.
