The Met Office on Friday forecast mainly hot and humid weather for the most parts of the country in the next 24 hours. However, it said, an isolated rain-thunderstorm is expected in D G Khan Division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan over the period.
"Marked seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is affecting Kashmir and adjoining areas," it said. In the last 24 hours: Maximum rainfall was recorded in Punjab as Rawalpindi received (Shamsabad 86 mm, Chaklala 70 mm), Sialkot (City 78 mm, Airport 6 mm), M.B Din 76 mm, Mangla 39 mm, Jhelum 37 mm, Murree 25 mm, Gujrat 22 mm, Lahore (City 21 mm, Airport 5 mm), Chakwal and Kasur 16 mm each, Gujranwala 13 mm, Kamra 12 mm and Mianwali 6 mm.
Islamabad: (Bokra 85 mm, Golra 50 mm, Zero Point 39 mm, Saidpur 23 mm). Kashmir: Rawalakot 38 mm, Kotli 35 mm, Muzaffarabad 11 mm, Garhi Dupatta 7 mm. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Kakul 29 mm, Risalpur 24 mm, Dir 10 mm, Kohat 8 mm, Peshawar and Cherat 6 mm each, Mirkhani 2 mm, Kalam 1 mm. Gilgit-Baltistan: Bagrote 9 mm, Hunza 6 mm, Gupis, and Gilgit 1 mm each.
Highest temperature was recorded in Sibbi 45 degrees Celsius, Dadu 42, Dalbandin, R. Y khan, Sukkur, Rohri and Shaheed Benazirabad 41 each. Weather Forecast for next 12 hrs: Validity (2000 PST/25-08-2017 to 0800 PST/26-08-2017) Rain-thunderstorm is expected at scattered places in upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar divisions & FATA. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
