Business Community on Wednesday urged government of Pakistan that all trade and business relations with Myanmar must be suspended until their government don't give relief and justice to deprived and oppressed Muslims. Expressing concern over the brutal killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, they have also announced to provide shelter to 1,000 Myanmar Muslim families in Pakistan.
While, addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday, Chairman Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) Mahmood Moulvi, along with prominent businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and Abdul Rahim Janoo, said that REAP members are also willing to visit Bangladesh along with Food, Medicine, Relief goods for Burmese Peoples.
Business community also announced to provide employment to the Myanmar Muslims. "We are also ready to bear all the transportation expenses from Burma to Pakistan, besides creating employment for them to live with dignity", they added.
Chairmen REAP said that in the current situation, when our Muslim brother and sisters are being butchered, this is not possible to remain silent; therefore business community has marked its protest. "A good number of Burmese nationals are here in Pakistan, so we request government of Pakistan to make their registration through NADRA, so that Pakistani businessmen can give them employment", he urged.
He also criticized the Bangladesh's behaviour regarding Myanmar and said that it is very unfortunate that Bangladesh being the Islamic country and neighbour of Myanmar, they are not giving any relief to Myanmar refugees. They must take measure for relief of Burmese refugees, he demanded.
Moulvi appreciated the statement of Turkish Government to intervene in the matter, and surprised that a lot of Muslim countries are still silent on this issue. "Our state silence is alarming on the issues of Myanmar, Yemen and Syria, where innocent children women and men are being killed on daily basis", he said.
Chairman REAP said that Pakistani people are always silent even when innocent children were bombed by drone attacks in FATA, when our educated youth opted for extremism, however now there is need to raise voice against terrorism at all forums our Silence plays already lead to a massive migration of our young brains to the West.
"We also request UN to make steps for the safeguard of Myanmar people, as it is their human right to given them standard of living with peace and freedom", he demanded. He said that irrespective of religion, cast or creed, there is need that government should ensure total protection for all.
Aqeel Karim Dhedhi urged the Muslim countries for immediate action for protection of Myanmar Muslims. He said that this is right time to motivate the Islamic Arm Forces to safeguard the Muslims in Myanmar. "Our today's protest will be a small contribution in waking ourselves and our state", he added. Business Community also protested against killings of innocent poor people of Myanmar.
