As many as 263,000 people have applied for 21,918 plots in four residential schemes announced by Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) in the federal capital. Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani informed this to National Assembly on Thursday during the Question Hour. Besides the above applicants for the plots, a total of 3,500 applicants had applied for 2,222 EHFPRO apartments, while the Ministry had issued 2,200 consent letters and 1,100 provisional offer letters, he said.
Giving details, he said that for Bara Kahu scheme, a total of 36,000 people applied for 3,268 plots while the Ministry issued consent letters to 32,000 applicants and issued provisional offer letters to 2,415 applicants. For the F-14/F-15 scheme, a total of 36,000 people applied for 7,201 plots and the Ministry issued 6,200 consent letters and provisional offer letters to 4,700 applicants.
For the Thallian scheme, a total of 98,000 people applied for 9,104 plots and the Ministry issued consent letters to 5,460 applicants. For the Park Road scheme, a total of 93,000 people applied for 2,345 plots and the Ministry issued consent letters to 1,000 applicants. The minister said Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) had successfully launched I/16/3 project in Islamabad in order to provide 1,584 B and E types apartments for general public and federal government employees.
As per set target, PHA Foundation successfully launched new project in I-12, Islamabad, for construction of 3,200 D and E types apartments, he said, adding PHA Foundation had arranged land in Peshawar and would arrange land in Multan for expanding its services. The minister said PHA Foundation had handed over apartments in G-11/2 E and C type apartments.
Answering a question, Minister for Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar informed the House that 8,074 cases of HIV-AIDS had been reported in the country during the last one-and-a-half-year. Shortly after the Speaker National Assembly announced that Question Hour was over, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Nazir Ahmed Bughio pointed out the quorum. The Speaker suspended proceedings of the House for completion of the quorum but to no avail. Later, the lack of the quorum forced the Speaker to adjourn proceedings of the House till today (Friday).
