On the advice of Quaid-e-Millat Jafaria Allama Sajid Naqvi a 15-member Central Muharram-ul-Haram Committee headed by Secretary General Shia Ulema Council Allama Arif Hussain Wahidi has been formed. A press release of Shia Ulema Council said that Syed Sikander Abbas Gilani Advocate has been appointed Secretary of the committee.
The other members of the committee are: Allama Muhammad Ramzan Tauqir from Dera Ismael Khan, Allama Mazhar Abbas Alvi Faisalabad, Babu Abdul Rahman, Dera Murad Jamali, Syed Mahmood Husain Bokhari , Mirpur Azad Kashmir, Moazzam Ali Baloch, Khairpur, Syed Husnain Mehdi Rizvi, Karachi, Tauqir Hussain Baba, Lahore, Akhundzada Zahid Ali Askar, Syed Sikander Shah Quetta, Allama Sheikh Mirza Ali, Gilgit, Allama Fida Hassan Abadi, Skardu, Maulana Ahmad ali Saeedi Muzaffarabad and Hassan Abbas Central President Jafaria Students Organization The Central Coordination Committee include Ghulam Haider Haideri, Advocate, Maulana Farhat Abbas Jawadi, Professor Mazhar Hussain Hashmi and Kalabe Abbas.
Meanwhile the Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee is meeting after Asr at meteorological department Karachi today (Thursday) for sighting of Muharram Ul Haram moon that marks beginning of the Islamic year or Hijra. The Met Office has said that according to astronomical parameters, there is fair chance of sighting the new moon of Muharram, 1439 AH on the evening of 21-09-2017, ie on 29th of Zilhij, 1438 AH. According to climate record, the weather is expected partly cloudy/cloudy in most parts of the country.
