Eleven of the injured victims of blast at Jhal Magsi shrine are presently under treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Larkana General Hospital. Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikandar Mahendero here on Friday told media that the victims were transported from Jhal Magsi, Thursday night, following a communication between him and Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti.
"We had immediately declared emergency at the hospital while all physicians, surgeons and paramedics are put on high alert," he said mentioning that the victims also underwent immediate surgery.
They were 13 in total, however, Nisar Ali (45 years), s/o Muhammad Sharif, succumbed to his injuries while being shifted from the site of incident and another Nadir Ali (18 years) s/o Adib Khan passed away soon after his arrival to the hospital, said the Sindh Health Minister.
Dr Mahendero, who also holds the portfolio of religious affairs, Ushr & Zakat in the provincial cabinet, on behalf of the people and government of Sindh, expressed absolute solidarity with the victims and their families, assuring them optimum support in every possible manner. "We are committed to providing all out support to our brethren from Balochistan," he said.
Sindh Minister said the Jhal Magsi blast reflected growing desperation among the unscrupulous elements and thus, they are now targeting unassuming sections in the remotest of the areas.
Dr Sikandar Mahendero said stringent security measures by the authorities at every level are meant to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorists. He said best of medical facilities are being provided to the victims of Jhal Magsi shrine and they are also under care of highly accomplished medical professionals.
