Chairman Qaumi Wantan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has expressed satisfaction over the breakthrough in ties between the brotherly countries of Pakistan and Afghanistan and welcomed General Bajwa recent visit to Afghan and also appreciated the sensibility of Afghan president for the peace and stability of both nations.
He was addressing a public meeting in Mohammad Narai Charssada, wherein Aziz Khan Ex-Director FIA announced to join QWP along with his relatives and scores of supporters who reposed confidence on the leadership of chairman QWP.
Aftab Sherpao said that the chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was warmly received in Kabul and the environment of the meeting was very cordial. He said QWP welcomed the constructive dialogues held between the Afghan president Ashraf Ghani and Pakistani delegation.
He said that we appreciated the acceptance of invitation by Islamabad and it will play a pivotal role in normalization of ties between the two Islamic states. "Both the countries were facing similar kind of problems like terrorism and militancy and one can't get desired result without helping his partner in need. If Afghanistan suffers, Islamabad will never have peace and stability," Sherpao stated.
QWP chief said that time and again it was advised that all outstanding issues should be settled through dialogue and peaceful means and asked for both the countries to resolved issues between themselves. "We are of the opinion that the two neighbors would benefit more if they worked together. Terrorist elements and their activities were harmful to the interests of both countries and region. It is good that sanity prevailed and the process of high level contacts resumed," he added. Aftab Sherpao said that QWP is the staunch supporter of the rule of law and democratic process. He said that an independent and strong parliament could resolve all problems and it should play its due role. He said that any tussle among the institution would undermine the system. He regretted that the Fata-KP merger had once again put on the back burner through dilly dallying which is a sheer injustice with people of the region and the merger should be done without any further delay. He said that it is unfortunate that 200 million people have been suffering due to the opposing of two political parties who insisted that the Fata-KP merger should not be happened before the general election for the sake their personal gains.
