Open trials for various categories part of the National Youth Carnival formally launched in 210 educational institutions across the province simultaneously on Tuesday. To attract maximum number of youth, a formal launching of the trials ceremony was held at University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar. Vice Chancellor UET Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain, DG Youth Asfandiyar Khan, DG Sports Junaid Khan, CEO LC Usman Khan and a large number of students from various institutions of district Peshawar were also present.
The youth took part in the trials in different categories comprising drama, thematic art, painting, calligraphy, short film, Urdu, English, Pashto singing, cultural dance, music band, Qira'at, Spelling Bee, Sell-It, Na'at, English, Urdu Declamation, Urdu essay writing, Pashto essay writing, Bait Bazi, Quiz competition, business plan, Ad Making, Stand-Up Comedy, Extra-Ordinary and Unique Talent, Console Gaming (FIFA-2017), Chess and Spot Photography.
This time, besides a grand Culture show, the participants will be facilitated with Education Expo so that to learn more about their career development, availing of foreign scholarship and provide a way out to make ensure their access to the higher education in the world leading educational institutions.
There were spots set-up to guide the students going through open trials and registration process. Around 0.2 million students from 210 educational institutions including 29 public and 9 private sectors Universities, 10 Madras will go through open trials. Counters for registration have already been setup for uneducated youth age between 18 to 25-year on the websites and social media.
The NYC is a floor designed for the outstanding youth to compete and shine with prize along with the struggling ones to enhance polish and rank their raw skills in the present of national level experts and competitors, said DG Youth Asfandiyar Khan Khattak in his brief chat.
He also went through different sections set-up for the trials inside UET with large number of students gathered for registration before trials in any of the event. He said the government is very keen for expending NYC horizon from the district to regional and provincial levels and then to national level.
"To identity, assess and promote the hidden potentials of the youth NYC will certainly provide a competitive environment enabling them to cultivate their career and success," he said, adding "such like activities provide opportunities to youth to develop brotherhood and exchange of culture." He said they have set a target of conducting opening trials in 210 educational institutions in all seven regions comprising Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Mardan, Hazara, Malakand and Peshawar.
The trials have already kicked off in University of Swabi, Bacha Khan University Charsadda, Women University Mardan, Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Hazara University, Swat University, Malakand University, Islamia College University Peshawar, educational institutions in Chitral, Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST).
