The country's export of sports goods declined by two percent to $51.992 million in first two months (July-August) of the current financial year 2017-18, official figures say. Fall in sports goods' export amounted $1.015 million in July-August this year. The total export in July-Aug, first two months of last fiscal year 2016-17, was $53.007 million, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
In August 2017, Pakistan exported $28.639 million of sports goods with an increase of just $0.115 million or 0.40 percent fromm $28.524 million in August 2016 Export of footballs also went up to $25.512 million in July-August of the fiscal year 2017-18 from $24.482 million in July-August of last fiscal year 2016-17, showing an increase of $1.03 million or 4.21 percent.
In term of quantity, export of footballs also surged by 61000 dozens or 13.35 percent to 518,000 dozens in July-August of fiscal year 2017-18 from 457,000 dozens in July-August of fiscal year 2016-17. The country's export of footballs grew by $2.867 million or 25 percent to $14.386 million in August 2017 from $11.519 million in August 2016. Export volume of footballs shot up by 85000 dozens or 40.01 percent to 297000 dozens in August 2017 from 212,000 dozens in August 2016.
