Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab Afzaal Bhatti has said that the ratio of resolved complaints of expatriate Pakistanis in Faisalabad division is satisfactory which was clear evidence of the hectic efforts of divisional, district and police administration.
He was presiding over a meeting to review the resolution mechanism of pending complaints of overseas Pakistanis in Faisalabad division. Commissioner OPC directed that two meetings of District Overseas Committee should be ensured in a month and proceedings in this regard should be uploaded on web portal of OPC regularly. He further directed that the complaints of overseas Pakistanis should be decided on purely merit basis and a comprehensive and effective policy should be evolved in this regard. Commissioner OPC said Overseas Commission has provided tremendous relief to overseas Pakistanis by resolving their complaints at the earliest throughout the Punjab under the strict directions of CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
He further said Overseas Pakistanis are the cultural ambassadors of the country in all over the world and they have made much contribution to their homeland in different walks of life. Divisional Commissioner Momin Agha said the issues of expatriate Pakistanis were being treated on priority basis in the districts of division. He informed that so far 245 applications of Overseas were resolved and rest of 203 complaints are under process regarding revenue, police and other different departments.
During the meeting, certain complaints of overseas Pakistanis came under discussion and Commissioner OPC directed the DCs to solve the issues. Chairman DOPC/MPA Azad Ali Tabassum said OPC was a one-window operation for resolution of the problems of overseas Pakistanis and in this regard, instructions of CM Punjab are carried out in letter and spirit. District and police administration gave briefing about pending cases of overseas Pakistanis.
Divisional Commissioner Momin Agha, RPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional DG OPC DIG Agha Yousaf, Chairman District Overseas Committee Faisalabad/MPA Azad Ali Tabassum, Deputy Commissioners Salman Ghani, Mudassar Riaz Malik, Ayub Khan, Kashif Muhammad Ali, CPO Athar Ismail, DPOs of Jhang, TT Singh and Chiniot, Liaqat Ali, Usman Akram Gondal, Mustansar Feroz, Addl. Commissioner Mehr Shafqat Ullah Mushtaq, ADCR M. Shahid, ACR Abdul Rauf, Member OPC Dr Wasim Nawaz and other officers also attended the meeting.
