Benchmark Tokyo rubber futures hit a four-month low on Tuesday, dragged lower by another decline in Shanghai futures as worries over sluggish demand weighed, brokers said. The Tokyo Commodity Exchange rubber contract for April delivery finished 2.8 yen lower at 192.8 yen ($1.70) per kg after touching 191.1 yen earlier, the lowest since June 26.
The most-active rubber contract on the Shanghai futures exchange for January delivery fell 60 yuan to finish at 13,260 yuan ($2,000) per tonne. The front-month rubber contract on Singapore's SICOM exchange for November delivery last traded at 139.8 US cents per kg, up 2.6 cents.
