Prices of essential food commodities, including pulses, vegetable, except sugar, chicken, eggs, further decreased in retail market. A survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday, noticed that the prices of important kitchen items, have registered a fall of Rs 10 to Rs 20 per kg in preceding week as compared to previous week.
One kilogram big size white channa is being sold at Rs 180 and Rs 170/- which was selling at Rs 200 per kg in the previous week, the survey noticed. It further said good quality sela rice has priced at Rs 120 against the price of Rs 120 per kg, showing decrease of Rs 5 per kg.
Similarly, white lobiya is being available at Rs 120 per kg against the price of Rs 140 per kg. Dal masoor priced at Rs 90 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 120 per kg in previous week. A visible decrease was witnessed in price of Dal mash, as available at Rs 140 against the price of Rs 180 per kilogram.
The locally produce red bean from district Dir is being sold at Rs 180 per kilogram, while Tajikistan red bean available at Rs 140 per kg, while low quality red bean is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram. Moong price has decreased from Rs 120 to Rs 100 per kilogram. Dotti dal is being sold at Rs 100 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 140 per kg in previous week.
The survey further said tota rice is being available at Rs 70 per kilogram, against the price of Rs 80 per kg in retail market. Dal channa is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram against the price of Rs 140 per kilogram. Price of gram flour (baisen) has decreased at Rs 120 per kilogram from Rs 140 per kg. However, the survey noticed that sugar is being sold at Rs 60 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 54 per kilogram, showing an increase.
The survey noted that an increase of Rs 5 to Rs 10 per litre was registered in various brand and quality of cooking oil/ghee in retail market, available being available at Rs 170, Rs 175 and Rs 180. According to survey, chicken meat is being sold at Rs 146 per kilogram against the price of Rs 135 per kilogram in previous week. Eggs is being available at Rs 140 per dozen, which was selling at Rs 130 per kg.
The survey was also witnessed a slight decrease in prices of vegetable in retail market. Tomato is being sold at Rs 70 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 80 per kg in preceding week, while price of onion has remained unchanged as available at Rs 80-90 per kilogram. Garlic is being sold at Rs 100-150 per kg, while ginger is still costlier, as available at Rs 280-300 per kilogram.
The survey noticed that price of one-kilogram peas has decreased at Rs 100, which was selling at Rs 150 per kg in previous week, while red potato is being sold at Rs 50 and white potato at Rs 40 per kg. Capsicum being sold at Rs 80 per kg, arvi at Rs 40 per kg, calabash at Rs 50 per kg, ladyfinger at Rs 80 per kg, kaddo at Rs 40 per kg, cauliflower at Rs 50 per kg, cabbage at Rs 60 per kg.
