JUI-F chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that unity among political parties for timely general elections is inevitable. Talking to media after a meeting of the party at District Council Tank, he said that none of the religio-political party has declined the revival of the defunct Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA). He said that JUI-S is part of MMA, but those working on foreign agenda do not want to see religious parties strengthened and using different tactics in this regard, but JUI-F will foil their nefarious designs.
The JUI-F chief said that the issue of the delimitation of constituencies is withheld and requires constitutional amendment and the government is lacking required strength in Senate. He said that they want timely elections for which political solidarity with must, which will play crucial role in bringing political stability in the country.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that elections should be held on due schedule saying neither assemblies should be dissolved before the completion of constitutional period and nor election should be delayed. In response to a question about the revival of MMA, he said that JUI-S is regularly attending all meetings aimed at the revival of the religio-political alliance and so for it had not violated the agreement. He said that a meeting in connections with the revival of MMA has been convened in Lahore on December 8, 2017 while crucial decisions will be taken the meeting of the heads of the component parties in Karachi.
