Speakers at a gathering on Thursday said that plea bargaining was a tool for protection of the corrupt who are devouring national resources. Marking the International Day of Anti-Corruption, protesters staged a rally from the Sindh Assembly to the Karachi Press Club. The rally was led by Senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, chairman of the Anti-Corruption Department Alamdin Bullo and the director general of the National Accountability Bureau. Vice chancellors of Karachi's universities were among the other participants of the walk.
The walk concluded at the Press Club, where a programme was organized by the Enquiries and Anti-corruption establishment of Sindh. The chairman of the Anti-Corruption Establishment, Alamdin Bullo, said that bribery and corruption were major crimes, and that the department was taking action against corruption.
